Photonics Completes Canadian Photonics Mission in Japan
Tokyo, Japan January 20th, 2005 JGKB
Photonics
Inc., today announced its successful participation in the
Canadian Photonics Mission from January 17th and 18th,
2005 in
Tokyo, Japan. This networking and trade show event was organized
by International Trade Canada and the Canadian
Embassy
in Tokyo and aimed at increasing the profile of Canadian Photonics
companies in Japan and the Pacific Rim.
The Canadian Embassy
hosted
the event for mission participants including seminar sessions,
table-top presentations, networking reception and partner
introductions.
The trade mission attracted more than 100 delegates from companies involved
in the Japanese photonics industry.
Canadian Photonics Mission participants
met with The Honourable David Emerson, Minister of Industry,
in a special reception hosted by the Ambassador of Canada
in Japan, The Honorable Robert G. Wright. Minister David Emerson
highlighted the global leadership position of the Canadian
Photonics industry and the importance of the Japanese market
to this Canadian sector.
Canadian Photonics Mission participants
were also privileged to attend a special luncheon with Prime
Minister Paul Martin during which he reiterated the importance
of Japanese-Canadian trade and the government initiative to
support emerging opportunities through an innovative Economic
Framework to be developed for this trading partner in 2005.
All mission participants were provided
full access to the Fiber Optics Expo immediately following
the completion of the activities at the Canadian Embassy.
The FOE 2005 trade show is the largest of its kind in Asia
bringing together 250 of the leading companies from Japan
and other Asian nations.
