JGKB Photonics Announces Versawave Product Division to Support New Thrust into Defense, Industrial and Telecom Markets

Vancouver, BC – March 8th, 2005 – JGKB Photonics Inc., today announced that it has created a new product division, Versawave, to better serve the needs of its expanding customer base. Versawave will focus on the production and sale of commercial off-the-shelf optoelectronic modulation products for defense, industrial and telecom industries. The new Versawave division also provides design, engineering and manufacturing services that enable its customers to develop specialized, high-speed optical communication applications. Versawave will absorb all products previously marketed under the JBKB Photonics brand.

Versawave’s products will be based on JGKB Photonics’ proprietary Gallium Arsenide based designs, which provide system manufacturers with cost effective solutions. Versawave modulation components offer design flexibility, small footprint and power efficiency for systems operating at 40 GHz and above. Versawave products enable fiber optic networks to transmit data and analog signals without errors or signal degradation.
